Today we’re celebrating the power of stories, imagination, and the characters that stay with us long after we turn the final page. Books spark creativity, build confidence, and open up whole new worlds for children (and adults too!).
In our house, World Book Day has meant dressing up as two brilliant characters: Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz and Arrietty Clark from The Borrowers. From yellow brick roads to tiny hidden homes beneath the floorboards, these stories have been inspiring young imaginations for generations.
It’s a lovely reminder that behind every great idea is often a great story. Whether it’s a classic adventure, a magical journey, or a tale of tiny borrowers living secretly among us, books encourage curiosity, creativity, and big thinking.
