Carbon Reduction Plan

Carbon Reduction Plan

Enlightenment Education is committed to reducing carbon emissions across all areas of our operations. As a micro‑business with no central office and minimal travel requirements, our carbon footprint is already extremely low. We continue to take proactive steps to support the UK Government’s Net Zero 2050 target.

Current Position

Our operational model significantly reduces emissions due to:

  • Both Directors working from home, eliminating daily commuting and the need for a physical office.
  • Fully electric vehicles used for all business‑related travel, resulting in zero tailpipe emissions.
  • Digital‑first operations, including paperless onboarding, e‑contracts, and electronic timesheets.
  • Minimal business travel, with the exception of customer and candidate meetings, our meetings are conducted online wherever possible.
  • Use of energy‑efficient equipment and responsible recycling of office waste and electronics.

Carbon Reduction Measures in Place

We have implemented the following measures:

  • Home‑working powered by renewable or low‑carbon energy tariffs where available.
  • Strict reduction of printing and paper use.
  • Monitoring and minimising business mileage, with EV charging used for all travel.
  • Encouraging suppliers and partners to adopt low‑carbon practices.

Future Commitments (Next 3 Years)

Enlightenment Education will continue to reduce emissions through:

  • Further reducing travel through virtual meetings and remote compliance processes.
  • Introducing a formal annual carbon‑tracking process.
  • Prioritising suppliers with strong environmental credentials.
  • Continuing to operate without a physical office to maintain a low‑carbon footprint.

 Net Zero Commitment

Enlightenment Education is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050, in line with UK Government targets.
Given our home‑working model and existing low‑carbon practices, we anticipate achieving this significantly earlier.

Governance

Carbon‑reduction actions are overseen by the Directors, who review progress annually and update the plan as required.
